We’re thrilled to present an opportunity for a dynamic General Manager/Retail Partner to fill the position at The Grafton Arms in Manchester City Centre.

Located just off Oxford Road in Manchester, the Grafton Arms is a friendly pub with fantastic locally brewed beers. In fact, the brewery is just a couple of miles down the road. From regular live music and open mic nights to pub quizzes and live sport, there’s always something happening here! This is a proud Manchester pub, shown by the brilliant hand-painted mural of Manchester legends across the walls. A site focused on live bands and open mic nights, its a hidden music gem in the Manchester music scene due to its close proximity to both Manchester Universities and opposite Manchester Royal Infirmary.

With over 175 years of brewing expertise under our belts, Joseph Holt prides itself on brewing the perfect pint, and we’re seeking an energetic General Manager/Retail Partner to champion our beer.  In this role, you won’t just be managing a team; you’ll be curating unforgettable experiences that place your pub at the heart of the community. From hosting entertainment to organising charitable events, you’ll be the driving force behind fostering connections and driving both sales and profits.

• Previous experience operating £10k + sales each week
• Previous Management experience in the hospitality industry
• The successful applicant(s) will need to manage a large team and ensure that their business is at the heart of the local community, with innovative entertainment and charitable events.
• Passionate about pubs and selling beer
• Strong sales and standards focus is essential
• Enthusiasm to lead and motivate your team
• Experience in operating a food led business is essential

Joseph Holt is an independent, six-generation family-owned company, with an ever-expanding Pub Estate in Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire. Our 127 pubs include traditional community pubs, food houses, and some even have accommodation. Since 1849 we have been brewing a wide range of award-winning beers in our Manchester brewery.

In the last 10 years alone, we have won 7 Gold Awards at the International Brewing Awards and are one of only three breweries in the world to do this.
