Kitchen Manager - The Bowling Green, Chorley

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Kitchen Manager at The Bowling Green, Charnock Richard. (Salary is up to £33,000 per annum, depending on experience).

Joseph Holt is an independent family-owned company, operating over 120 pubs, restaurants and hotels within Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire, producing a range of award-winning beers from our Brewery in Manchester. The Bowling Green is set in the Lancashire village of Charnock Richard boasting a large family-friendly pub restaurant with a fabulous selection of food and drink offers and children's activity areas - it's a great day out for the entire family. 

The Role, Head Chef

The successful Head Chef will be passionate about food quality and standards within the business. You will be obsessive in ensuring all meals leaving the kitchen meet the required specification and standards and only the very best will do. As a Head Chef, you are responsible for the financial performance of the kitchen including hygiene, Health & Safety, food stock control and ordering. You will enjoy a busy, hands-on role and thrive on working as part of a successful team. A competitive rate of pay is dependant on each individual and experience. The role will also include evening and weekend work.

About You

Previous experience as a Head Chef in a food business would be ideal, but we will consider a strong Sous Chef, ready for their first appointment.

  • Excellent cooking skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Experience of cooking dishes from scratch
  • A passion for delivering great food quality
  • Leadership qualities with the enthusiasm and charisma to motive your team
  • Strict adherence to food hygiene and Health & Safety regulations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, strong work ethic and hunger to learn
  • Minimum level 2 food hygiene
