Head Chef - Cock at Budworth, Northwich

Joseph Holt is an independent family owned company, operating over 120 pubs, restaurants and hotels within Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire, producing a range of award winning beers from our Brewery in Manchester. We are a friendly family run company that are passionate about what we do.

Located on the main Warrington/Northwich road (A559) four miles South of J10, M56 The Cock at Budworth is one of the best-known pubs in the area. Having completed a major refurbishment, which has brought the pub back to its former glory, including the addition of restaurant dining in the ‘old barn' which supplements the existing conservatory dining. The Cock at Budworth offers everything you might want from a traditional Cheshire country pub. In the winter months relax in front of one of the open fires with a hearty meal, or in the summer enjoy food and drinks on the patio or large beer garden with children's play facilities.

The Role, Head Chef

The successful Head Chef will be passionate about food quality and standards within the business. You will be obsessive in ensuring all meals leaving the kitchen meet the required specification and standards and only the very best will do. As a Head Chef you are responsible for the financial performance of the kitchen including hygiene, Health & Safety, food stock control and ordering. You will enjoy a busy, hands on role and thrive on working as part of a successful team. A competitive rate of pay is dependant on each individual and experience. The role will also include evening and weekend work.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef in a small food business would be ideal, but we will consider a strong Sous Chef, ready for their first appointment.
  • Excellent cooking skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Experience of cooking dishes from scratch
  • A passion for delivering great food quality.
  • Leadership qualities with the enthusiasm and charisma to motive your team
  • Strict adherence to food hygiene and Health & Safety regulations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, strong work ethic and hunger to learn
  • Minimum level 2 food hygiene
