Area Manager - Pubs

Joseph Holt is a family brewer, which was founded in 1849 and has remained in the family for over five generations. We are based in Manchester, and own a large estate of over 120 pubs and restaurants in the Northwest and supply Holt's beers to over 190 venues nationally. The company is going through an exciting period of change with considerable investment in the estate including new build openings and major capex refurbishments and we are currently looking for an experienced Area Manager to join our team.  

The Area Managers role will involve full operational accountability for circa 20 pubs and management teams.  You will work with the teams to drive wet sales whilst supporting the teams to maximise the profit and opportunity of each pub.  Previous experience in a similar role/environment is required along with strong management, commercial and practical skills.

The role:

  •  You will have a consultative approach, to support the Manager/Retail Partner, looking at every part of their business to ensure they are set up for success.
  • You will work with the Managers/Retail Partners to implement growth plans that deliver results and maximise profit.
  • Continually review and monitor profitability and performance of all sites to ensure sales targets are met.
  • Possess a solid understanding of health and safety regulations and ensure all sites are compliant.
  • Ensure regular maintenance of sites, including repairs.

About you:

  • Proven experience of running your own successful pub business.
  • Strong commercial and problem solving skills with intermediate knowledge of Outlook, Word & Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and ability to build relationships across the business at all levels
  • Reliable and flexible attitude to work
